REACH the heart of anyone who has ever been affected by Type 1 Diabetes.
SHARE the journey through highs and lows.
LOVE unconditionally, just as we have all been commanded to do.
John 13:34-35 (New International Version)
34"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
The cornerstone of our family, our faith in Jesus Christ and His promise of everlasting love holds us together through thick and thin.
Married in 2000 for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer....oh.....and all the highs and lows (literally) in between!
Mr. and Mrs. Candy Hearts are also known as Jason and Wendy.
Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 24 months and Celiac Disease at age 5, Sugar has been forced to grow up much faster than any child ever should. Despite the challenges, her smile comes easily, her imagination soars, and her love for others shines. She can often be found reading to her sisters, writing stories, or making up stories to roll play. Sugar loves school, her sisters, music...and chocolate :)
Tink loves to figure things out -- from dressing a stuffed animal to building a castle out of books. She's constantly in the kitchen, ready and eager to help however she can! It usually doesn't take long before she pulls out the unused pots and pans to create an imaginative delicacy that no one can resist. She makes friends easily and does a great job keeping up with her older sisters. Tink loves planes, trains, and automobiles...but her favorite of all is a HELICOPTER!
My step-daughter, Spice, lives out of state. Our family cherishes the time we share with her, and it's been a joy to witness the amazing young lady she is becoming. I met her for the first time when she was 2, and I consider her to be one of my own. Life is always refreshing when Spice is around. She is a fantastic older sister, a wonderful daughter, and a special friend to anyone who is blessed to know her! Spice loves to read, draw, and listen to her iPod.
We rescued Ivy on Christmas Eve 2009. She's an Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler)/Besenji mix - complete with the cutest curly tail. Ivy has a very sweet disposition, but don't be fooled....she's extremely protective of her pack (read: US)!!! We have a great time taking her on family day trips and out of town excursions, but she does require a little time to warm up to new environments. She's constantly herding up the girls, trying her best to make sure that no one is getting out of line. She is certainly a working dog. Ivy loves her family, a tasty bone, and Cheetos :)
